I just send him my polished-AF-vocals, and he does the rest but at some point, I want to own the whole chain for sure!

It´s just, at the moment I need to focus on using money I basically already spent, and I will definitely look into more tools for my belt that are non UAD - let´s see if I ever need to mix anything other than vocals - I hope to, but that´s what my producer likes to do at the moment. Hahaha, I like that your passion got you carried away a bit! It ain’t uad tho so I guess I got off topic sorry Great on boxed vocals, drums, guitar, and makes them huge, somehow at times even wider than the soundstage your converters are naturally giving you it’s really crazy. Takes something like an old Oberhiem and makes it pure magic. Takes a mono synth and makes it larger than life. Not just another stupid sonic maximizer or stereo enhancer, no this is something special.

Ampex mastering deck is a great glue plug and all the CLA stuff is killer for whipping up super quick client mixes that sound polished.Ī secret weapon of mine is the FREE isotope imager with stereioizer. Instead of my laundry list I submit my desert island UAD plug in a room of all the outboard you could want: the EMT plate Reverb. The last two on the list were the ones I would add if getting a second Octo card.

If two, then I can use one as the main channel EQ's one a softube controller. I was organizing the list to make the higher priced ones be the picks. But I'm going for two Octo cards and this list: I went for a pick 6+2 (holiday purchase). The heavy CPU usage plugs are often the good sounding ones because they did a detailed component model. You will also want to look over the UAD instance chart for CPU usage. If you do get some basic tools like the 1176 and la2a with it, then you are free to pick say a 1073 EQ or SSL EQ. The card should some with some core plugs that include the 1176 and la2Aīut if not, that's the list I would pick. NEVE DFC or 88RS (EQ and dynamics) -any out there tired both? If you have anything to add to this discussion, please leave a comment.Since you can only pick three, I suggest this: I recently asked a question on the Plugin Alliance forum to find out how everyone felt about the differences between Native and UAD plugins. UAD is a bit more expensive, but does free up the DSP on your computer for other plugins and processing. The main difference is the way the plugins run on the system and the price. I’ve done null tests on the plugins and they cancel out when the phase is inverted. I’ve used both platforms and I don’t notice any big differences between the sound. So do you need to have both versions? I’d only say yes if you need to delegate your DSP processing. You can get the same plugin on both UAD and Native platforms. The Apollo system has many options and price points and this makes them a good option for any studio setup. Universal Audio has a line of interfaces and satellite boxes that allow you to run the UAD plugins. Now if your computer doesn’t have the power to run these native plugins, you can look into getting a UAD system that provides the DSP processing for your plugins. The audio quality is clear and gives you the sound that your mixes need. These plugins are modeled emulations of some great pieces of gear and they sound great.

One of my favorite native plugin companies is Plugin Alliance. The only limitation is the processing power of your computer. They’re great because you don’t need any extra hardware to run them. These are plugins that work with the DSP processing power of your computer.
Uad plugins price trial#
Even if you watch a video or someone tells you that you should buy a plugin, I always recommend running it through the trial period to give yourself some time to find out if it’s what you need. Most of the plugin companies will offer a trial period, which is exactly what you should do before investing. What do you need that you don’t already have? More color? Better transient control? The best way to find out is demo a few plugins and see if they give you the edge that you need. Compressors are bountiful and there are many different types out on the market. Mainly a new tool that will enhance your mixes and give you the control you need to shape the mix. Focus on plugs that give you something that you don’t already have in your system.
